The couple said they were excited to launch 'Live on the Lawn' which will feature three Bega Valley based musicians and their original songs once a month.

The first will run on October 9 and just over half the tickets had already sold with guests limited to 60 for now.

"We're starting small, and then we'll build up and we'll probably cap it at 100 once we've finished building," Ms Atkins said.

The couple said they would be leading the first gig playing songs from their newly formed band, CHICK.

The pair said they were songs they had presented each other as wedding presents.

"We thought it would be quite fitting for us to perform on the first event to welcome everyone into our space that has eventuated from our deep love for each other," Ms Atkins said.

The other two performances include Chris O'Donnell and Anactoria featuring Tamlyn Lee Magee and Samwise Sorenson.

The couple have built the stage from the ground up themselves on their property and couldn't wait for it to be finished, to share the space and their love of music with the Valley.

Ms Atkins said the funds collected from the $30 tickets will go towards the local artists who performed and directly back into developing their venue further.

The talents set to perform every month will be Bega Valley based artists only, this approach was founded on the concept of welcoming people in the Bega Valley to come together to support talent in the Valley.

"The venue isn't for touring musos or big musos, it's just for Bega Valley musos, who've committed to being a songwriter," Mr Bloomfield said.

Ticketholders attending the event will have the opportunity to purchase some of the artists' music by scanning QR codes, that will take the person straight to a website where they can choose to purchase whichever songs they like or the album.

"It's still really affordable but every bit of money is going to that artist and the other little bit is going to that platform or charity they are on," Ms Atkins said.

Mr Bloomfield said one of the challenges artists face with music going online on accounts like Spotify or Apple music, is that they're struggling to get money back from what they've put into making their albums.

"If we can be a small cog in the wheel advocating to buy digital downloads then that's something," Mr Bloomfield said.

'Live on the Lawn' will be hosted at Bear Mountain, 453 Wallagoot Lane in Jellat Jellat on October 9.

The event is an outdoor only event and children under 12 can come for free.

The family friendly event runs for three hours kicking off at midday, there will be a free sausage sizzle, space for the kids to play and people are encouraged to bring their own rugs.

The event is a COVID-safe, the venue has been registered and follows COVID-guidelines including registered QR codes, capped entry and social distancing.
