Good viewpoints are Tura Headland and Short Point.

Now is the time for drummer off our headlands and a great way to exercise during our Covid lockdown but be careful of heavy seas. Try cunjevoi bait.

Anglers fishing the Haycock and Horsehoe reefs report a few snapper and morwong while anchored.

A number of substantial bronze whaler sharks are also reported. Snapper catches are also reported from the Hunter Rock area. Baited micro jigs, pink to reddish soft plastics work well and also pilchard baits on a paternoster rig. Don't forget to use burley while anchored.

Access along the shore of the Pambula River mouth remains difficult as large seas have washed most of the shoreline sands away.

Australian salmon and good tailor are available trolling, try clear soft plastics emulating white bait.

Salmon are also about off our beaches, best near the top of the run-in tide early morning and evening look for run out gutters. Try triple gang hooked pilchards as bait or if you want to cast 50gm blue coloured metal lures.

Swarms of small trevally which are great fun for our littlies learning to fish, but must be released on capture, surround the Merimbula Fishing Platform (Wharf). Best caught when using burley. Some nice calamari squid can also be taken, try using reddish No. 3 jigs.

In the Merimbula Lake there remain some lovely trevally in the main channel at Spencer Park and tailor, trevally and dusky flathead in the Top Lake.

Most of the Bega River is fairly dirty following the past weeks rains. Dusky flathead have reported from Mogareeka. Try 180cm glide lures in the shallows. At the launching ramp pontoon some lovely estuary perch have also been landed.

The rains have re-opened Wallagoot Lake and there are some good fish in the lake; ranging from tailor to trevally, leatherjackets and dusky flathead.

Bream and dusky flathead are available in the Bega River which remains open.

The south side of the Bridge, the launching ramp pontoon and up river as far as Thompsons are the go. Best results from soft plastics, pumped nippers and pilchards. Try swing bait lures in the shallows.
