As the number of Covid cases increase in the ACT, concern has turned to the number of venues such as supermarkets that have appeared on the exposure site list in recent days, including Manuka Coles, Canberra Costco and several supermarkets at Westfield Belconnen and Cooleman Court.
In many cases, exposure times for those venues include the period after the lockdown measures were announced and in venues where scenes of panic buying were reported.
Of the supermarkets, service stations and takeaway venues listed on the exposure list, four of them are close contact venues, 28 are casual contact locations and seven involve secondary contacts, as of 11am Tuesday.
Many of the supermarket venues have only been added to the exposure site list in the past 24 hours, as the number of close contacts who have identified themselves to ACT Health expands.
There are at least 6500 close contacts in the ACT who have self-identified, authorities have said.
Among the venues are locations in Canberra's north around Gungahlin and Belconnen, down through to Canberra's inner south and Woden areas, including many major shopping centres such as Westfield Belconnen and Cooleman Court.
