Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby made a visit to an old stomping ground in Tasmania's far north west this week.

Smithton High School, on the north west coast, posted on its Facebook page that the comedian had dropped in for a visit on Monday.
"We were a little star struck at Smithton High," the post read.
"With a visit from a past student who has come home to the Apple Isle to do a couple of shows in Launceston and Hobart. What a great afternoon showing Hannah and Jenny our new school."
Gadsby is returning to Tasmania with new show, Body of Work.
"Body of Work is a hug," Gadsby said last month.
"I just think we've all been through the wringer. I don't think agitation is what people want, we all need a little escape."

Gadsby is perhaps best known for her show, Nanette, which was released on Netflix in 2018 and received multiple accolades, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and a Peabody Award.
Gadsby rose to prominence after winning the national final of the Raw Comedy competition for new comedians in 2006, and has since toured internationally as well as appearing on television and radio.
