Cheryl Walker was one of those people and when doctors couldn't find the source of her extreme pain she started searching herself and it was nearly four years before she found the answer.

"During those years I was taking strong opiate pain relievers which caused depression and suicidal thoughts and a complete nervous breakdown in 2010," she said.

Cheryl attributes the film "This Might Hurt" as contributing to her complete recovery and has bought the screening rights and is hoping the film can be screened at the Narooma Kinema on Thursday, July 22 at 7pm.

The Kinema is promoting the film as an 'Awareness Screening for Chronic Pain' that Mrs Walker highly recommends.

"The doctor in the film, Howard Schubiner is one of the doctors whose book was important to my recovery. I have seen the movie twice now, it's excellent and well produced," she said.

According to the producers of the movie, 'This Might Hurt' is a documentary that offers solutions to cure chronic pain and follows three chronic pain patients who have spent years searching for answers.

Desperate for relief, they enter a new medical program - run by Dr Howard Schubiner - that focuses on uncovering hidden causes of pain, and retraining their brains to switch the pain off.
