Mr Symonds will commence in mid-July. He has held management roles in the disability sector since 1994.
Mr Symonds began a community-based employment service on the North West Coast of Tasmania, a region with lots of similarities to the Bega Valley.
His work has involved rolling out the NDIS across the eastern seaboard for a Queensland service as well as being the executive director of services at Koomarri, the ACT disability service. Currently he is the general manager of operations for a large, Tasmanian-based disability service that has operations in Victoria and Queensland
"I congratulate Peter on his appointment and know he will be warmly welcomed by the Tulgeen team," Tulgeen chairman Grattan Smith said.
"I extend my sincere gratitude to Jen for her eight years' contribution to Tulgeen, her leadership as CEO for last five years and in particular the last 18 months during the bushfire and COVID-19 crises."
Ms Russell will continue as project manager for the Elliot Lane Apartments housing development due for completion in August 2021.
"Tulgeen will continue to provide client centered services with a pursuit of excellence. Tulgeen is proud to inspire an inclusive, connected and caring community," Mr Smith said.
