Meanwhile, Group 16 rugby league will hurtle into round two with the Bega Roosters to unveil two extra additions to their first grade roster when they host the Bay Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
Unlike the other major winter codes, the Sapphire Coast AFL were able to go ahead with an - albeit reduced - season last year.
This puts them in the enviable position of having players with more consistent match fitness compared to other codes that are rebuilding after a year off the paddock.
And for the Sea Eagles, the club is looking forward to the return of their speedy high-flying antics when they take on the defending premiers from the Merimbula Diggers at Lawrence Park on Saturday.
The Eagles enjoy playing at their home fortress as it favours a quick and mobile playstyle.
And as two of the most consistent clubs in the competition there will be a full afternoon of matches with both reserve grade and ladies clashes to go ahead as part of the draw that will attract a strong home crowd.
Footy fans will even have a chance to catch two games back to back with the Roosters lining up for another 5pm kick off on their home turf at the Bega Rec Ground against the visiting Bay Tigers outfit.
Three games will be in the offing for league fans their too, with 18s opening the card at 2pm and ressies at 3.30pm.
"We had an awesome crowd last weekend and it would be great to get the Roosters pen down there again," coach Scott Barton said.
An added drawcard for fans will be the Roosters unleashing their two new arrivals, fresh off the back of a New Zealand National under 20s rep win in Memphis Hennessey and Cail Terry.
"They were playing in the national 20s in New Zealand right up until last Saturday when they won the comp, then jumped straight on a plane and have already been fitting in well at training," Barton said.
"They could be the final puzzle piece for a squad we're really happy with."
The Roosters secured a solid second half win over the Moruya Sharks and Barton said he was impressed with the team's will to scrim for the ball and grind at the result.
"It was an awesome effort for our boys to hang in there and grind it away for an impressive win."
Barton said the Roosters would continue to focus on their own game and the weekly goals they set themselves and aren't worried about what the Tigers could bring to the table.
"If we make it about ourselves and be the best we can be - if we do our jobs well we'll give this comp a good shake," he said.
