No bunnies were lost, but a great time was had at the Bega Gun Club for the Easter shoot.
A field of 24 took part, skipping the chocolates in favour of a three event shoot at the Tarraganda grounds.
The opening round was a 30-target double barrel off a common mark where Charlie Smith excelled in AA grade with a flawless result. Peter Athanopoulous was second, 28/30. In A Grade, Alf Niesar also collected 30/30 to win. Mark Evans claimed second in a shoot off with Allian Magri after both finished on 28/30. B Grade went to John Walker, after he surprised himself and "shot the lot". Rodney Bresnan, Chris Brown and John Siede, took a further six targets for Rodney to take second. George Adamopoulos took the honours in C Grade with a score of 27/30 from Geoff Beht on 24/30.
Having warmed up, the squads moved on to the second event, 30 target point-score. The ever consistent Chris Rowland showed the way in AA Grade with a score of 87/90, with Ray Welch in second place, 86/90. Cooma regular, Steve McIntyre and Alf Niesar took a little extra to sort out A Grade, with Steve finishing 90/96 to Alf's 87/96. When Club Pres. Chris Brown and VP. Bert Deacon finished on 83/90 in B Grade with Deacon winning the shoot off. C Grade went to Christel Feldmann with a score of 73/90, with Phil Rumph second on 66/90.
The final event was a 20-pair double rise, which officials said was not contested often, but provided plenty of fun. Chris Rowland added to his point-score effort to take A grade with a score of 32/40. Charlie Smith added to his first event efforts to take second with a score of 30/40. Bert Deacon followed up his point-score effort, also, to win B Grade with a 35/40 total, once again to be followed up by Chris Brown who took second prize with 29/40. George Adamopoulos picked up his second prize for the day, winning C Grade with a score of 23/40, one target ahead of Tony Gray on 22/40 .
High Gun went to Chris Rowland with a score of 146/160. George Adamopoulos, graciously declined the cash with members joking he missed on purpose to secure the consolation meat tray. Next month's raffle will be at its maximum $500.
Next months program consists of 50T Double barrel and 50T point-score. Competition starts at 10am.
