This new winter activity is sure to draw lovers of gourmet food and likely to boost tourism during the winter season owners say.
The truffle hunts will be scheduled weekly during July - August at the Gulaga Gold truffiere.
Visitors will experience the thrill of the hunt with the help of local truffle dogs.
After unearthing them, guests will then learn how truffles are handled, graded and treated to enjoy them to their fullest.
They'll then finish the experience by sampling the 'fruits of their efforts'.
The truffière was established by Fiona Kotvojs and Alan Burdon who have been selling them commercially to local restaurants and internationally since 2018.
Owners Fiona and Alan said that since truffle hunt is on the list of the 'Top Ten Things to Do' for lovers of gourmet food, it is expected to be a major draw card for winter tourism.
The truffle hunting will also be on the Gourmet Coast trail website that will be launched in May.
The Gourmet foodie trail is an interactive website for food lovers that brings together unique food and drink businesses along the NSW coast.
