Police were called shortly after 1am to reports of a northbound prime mover leaving the road and crashing through some fencing three kilometres north of the Snowy Mountain Highway turnoff.
Police, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue and Rural Fire Service crews attended the scene, and said the trailer had done significant damage to an area of fenceline, but thankfully the fuel tanks had not ruptured.
Traffic was delayed in both directions throughout the morning, while the highway was closed at 10.30am to carry out a removal of the wreckage.
Police said the removal was complete and the Highway has re-opened in both directions at about 11.30am on Monday.
The driver was conveyed to the South East Regional Hospital and is recovering.
