The alt-country musician's track "I Don't Know What I've Got Myself in For" is currently at number two on the renowned Australian Country Radio charts.
Impressively for the homegrown Bega lad, as of this week it is topping entries from Troy Cassar-Daley and Barry Gibb of Bee Gees fame.
The track has recently been played on Double J and is about to be heard on KIX Country - both are national radio stations. It will also be played on CMT on Foxtel over the coming month.
"It's something I wasn't expecting," Legge told Australian Community Media this week.
"It's a crazy thing to read my name alongside Keith Urban and Pink, Barry Gibb, and be ahead of Troy Cassar-Daley. It's very humbling and exciting."
"I Don't Know What I've Got Myself in For" is the fourth single from Legge's acclaimed second solo album, Some Days, and one for which he said he had a lot of fun filming the video.
"It is the last single off the album so I thought we'd go all out and have some fun with it!"
The chart placing comes at the end of a run of shows touring with the new album, Some Days, and Legge said he hoped to be back on the Far South Coast in coming months.
He is based in Wollongong for now and pleased to be able to get back in front of live audiences as restrictions on gig venues ease. There are also plans for a European tour in 2022.
In other great news for fans, there is also a third album in the works.
"I'm into the writing process over the next few months for my third album and hopefully back in the studio within six months," Legge said.
Some Days is on Spotify for anyone who would like to listen to all 10 tracks, as recorded in New Zealand with producer Ben Edwards.
As well as "I Don't Know What I've Got Myself in For", it includes the singles "Last Night I Dreamt of You", "Fireball", and the title track "Some Days".
