The book fair that is typically run twice a year in January and July, had been rescheduled for February due to the border closure with Victoria in early January.
Despite the minor setback, the Rotary club has put all measures in place to respect COVID-19 regulations and make the anticipated event happen.
The pavilion is set up with fewer tables and spaced apart to respect the COVID-19 regulation of keeping 1.5 metres away from others.
The donated books that are up for sale have also been made safe from the virus as the club hasn't accepted any recent donations and are selling books that have been in storage since March 2020.
The book fair has been running for 12 years. Treasurer of the Bega Rotary Club Charlie Blomfield said the most popular genre in the non-fiction books seem to be the cookery and gardening books.
Mr Blomfield said the the most popular genre overall is children's books.
The club aims to encourage children to learn and appreciate reading by making the first five books free.
"Over the years we have been quite particular in trying to make sure we deal in quality books. Quality creates quantity," Mr Blomfield said.
