With over 300 nominations across the 15 full TAB card, the fields are expected to be exceptional as almost $500,000 goes up for grabs in prize money over the two days.
"This will undoubtedly be the most well-credentialled Bega Cup ever held within the history of the track," club secretary-manager Rob Tweedie said.
"We can expect massive fields, the nominations are the biggest we've ever had fort the two-day carnival. which goes to show that each year it's growing."
Promoter Jess O'Donnell said beyond the exceptional racing on-track, there will be something for everyone trackside with entertainment for the kids as well as a return to fashions on the field for the first time in a year.
"That will be our first fashions on the field competition since last year's Bega Cup due to covid restrictions," Ms O'Donnell said.
She said there would be prizes for the best dressed lady, man and child as well as a prize for the best hat or fascinator on the day.
Fashions will award some superb prizes with guest judge appearances by Joe McKinnon, Julieanne Horsman and Libby Tweedie.
Ms O'Donnell said there would also be a diverse and delicious range of food available with pizzas on both days prepared by Sapphire Coast Eats and a full canteen being run by Valley Catering.
The kids will be kept busy with a free jumping castle to run both days.
Mr Tweedie said the club had been marketing the Sapphire Coast online as well as on the Sky network to promote the Far South Coast's tremendous offerings to visitors.
"[the ad] targeted the local area; the restaurant and fishing and golf and all those great things we have to offer," he said.
Mr Tweedie said racegoers would be in for a treat with the exceptional fields culminating in an $80,000 Bega Cheese Bega cup headline race.
A field of 24 horses have nominated with a total prize pool behind them of more than $4.5 million showing the quality of runners in the contest.
Mr Tweedie said some local favourites are Moruya Cup winner Payton Place that is a Sapphire trained runner, while Theresa Bateup who secured four winners in the recent Tathra Cup will return to defend her 2020 Bega Cup crown.
With a 15-race card over the two days, Mr Tweedie said another highlight would be a 2200m race with a start right near the finishing post as runners complete a full loop of the Kalaru circuit.
