"The Far South Coast has had a very rough year to say the least," creative director Lindy Hume said.
"Providing a music festival and a community gathering place around what's wonderful in this part of the world could be an antidote to the shocking year people have had."
The entire festival will be themed around 'reconnection' and Ms Hume said "it seems to the right word for this time around".
"We also wanted to acknowledge that a lot of people have felt disconnected with a sense of isolation over the last year.
"It will be like plugging ourselves back in to an energy source through music, nature and our community."
Ms Hume said even with stringent social distancing measures the festival will be able to welcome around 1500 guests with a focus on expanding the scope and reach of performances to attract a broad range of people.
"The heart will always be that exquisite chamber music, [there will also be] contemporary dance and theatre and different musical styles and genres."
There will also be a focus on local and regional talent as long distance travel remains restrictive.
"I'm really excited to see how the local and regional has really shot to the fore of people's conscious in the arts in Australia," Ms Hume said.
With a keen focus on bringing people back together, Ms Hume said the Four Winds festival would celebrate local artists as well as welcoming some special guests.
