The news comes as a renewed outbreak of COVID-19 in Sydney's northern beaches sparked other states to shut their borders to those from NSW "red zones".
Among the exempt NSW local government areas are Bega Valley and Snowy Monaro, and our Victorian neighbours in East Gippsland. Eurobodalla is not among the exempt regions.
Instead of requiring a permit, residents from these LGAs only need a driver's licence in order to cross the border.
However, if you live in the exempt border communities but have visited or travelled through the Northern Beaches red zone since December 11, or in the past 14 days (whichever is later), you are not permitted to enter Victoria.
