The Bega and Brogo Rivers Flood Warning System feasibility study will contribute to the development of a flood warning system for the community.
This project follows on from the 2018 Bega and Brogo Rivers Floodplain Risk Management Study & Plan (FRMS&P, Cardno, 2018) which recommended investigating a flood warning system in the Bega and Brogo River study area.
This study will be conducted by water engineers, Cardno.
It will involve community consultation and a review of available and emerging flood warning technology to develop a fit for purpose flood warning system, tailored to the different needs of each community in the study area.
Council is seeking input from Bemboka, Wolumla, Candelo, Bega, Tarraganda, Kalaru, Tathra, Mogareeka and their surrounds to better understand:
- Your previous experiences of flooding and flood warnings in the study area
- Suggestions for improving and expanding the current flood warning system.
Visit information sessions at: Club Bega on December 7 from 4-6pm; Candelo Hall on December 8 from 4-6pm; or Tathra Hall on December 9 from 4-5.30pm.
