The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) predicted the low-intensity heatwave would arrive in the region on Thursday, continue through Friday and possibly to Saturday.
For Bega, temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius on Thursday, dropping slightly on Friday then spiking up to 35 degrees on Saturday, according to BOM.
Temperatures in Merimbula could reach 27 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 32 degrees on Saturday.
In Bermagui, temperatures could reach 26 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 32 degrees on Saturday.
NSW Health states during extremely hot weather, it is easy to become dehydrated or for your body to overheat.
"Exposure to high temperatures can lead to life-threatening heat-related illness such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion," NSW Health states.
"More commonly, heat can make existing chronic illness worse. This can have equally serious consequences such as inducing a heart attack in someone who has a heart condition."
