Three recent major projects by Fling Physical Theatre have all been shortlisted for the Australian Dance Awards.

"It is wonderful to be nominated for these three works," Fling co-artistic director Rob McCredie said.
"We are incredibly proud of all of these projects, and the teams of artists and our Fling Company performers who created them."
The 2020 Australian Dance Awards celebrate the work of dancers and companies from across Australia in 2018 and 2019, with four finalists shortlisted in each category per year. Fling is shortlisted in the Youth Dance Category.
"Being a regionally based arts organisation, having our work recognised on a national platform is wonderful and demonstrates that nationally relevant work can, and is, being made in regional centres across Australia," Fling co-artistic director Gabrielle Rose said.
The works that have been nominated include 2018's Body and Environment, directed by McCredie.
This immersive work was set within a unique transforming set installation, manipulated by the performers throughout the work and also featured an original score by David Hewitt with stunning lighting by Gerry Corcoran.
Also nominated was 2019's My Black Dog, directed by guest artist Kate Denborough in collaboration with Rose and McCredie.
Designed to support the mental health of young people living in regional and remote communities, this work brought people together to start an important conversation around mental health, and was seen by over 200 local high school students.
The third work nominated was Fling's major collaboration with FORM Dance Projects and Sydney Youth Orchestras, Encounter South in 2019 directed by Emma Saunders and presented at Four Winds Spring Music Festival.
This large-scale outdoor work, featuring an original orchestral score, was created for the Four Winds site and was later presented in the Sydney Festival in 2020.
"These projects would not have been possible without the significant investment and support of local and national project partners, funding bodies and donors," Rose said.
"These projects have a significant impact on the lives of young people living in the Bega Valley and our regional community at large, enabling local stories to be told and regional voices to be celebrated."
The Australian Dance Awards will be held as an online ceremony on December 8.
