Marine Rescue Narooma radio operator Darrin Stollznow said the call for assistance was received about 11am regarding a 30-foot vessel located about 12 nautical miles south of Bermagui that had a fuel issue and required a tow back to the seaside town.
He said five volunteers from Narooma took their boat NA30 and "had to leg it down south", as the Marine Rescue Bermagui's inflatable rescue vessel was being serviced.
"It was a fairly large, heavy boat and it was a slow tow back as the north eastly picked up," Mr Sollznow said.
"But it all went smoothly."
He said the boat belonged to a local fisherman and the two people onboard were "all fine".
The fishing vessel arrived back in Bermagui's harbour about 2.30pm.
