Eden boasted some opportune moments in their reply, but afternoon rain pulled the plug on play with the hosts at 7/100 with about 11 overs to go.
With the results compounded to match, the Sea Eagles were awarded the win by about 45 runs.
Travelling to the Eden Cricket Ground to face the Reds, Eden won the toss and sent Tathra in to bat where opener Pete Bennett had a strong start to the year, knocking 66 runs before he was caught by Jo Elton.
It didn't go quite as well for fellow opener Ben O'Reilly who was dismissed cheaply by Patrick Kearney.
Geordie Gibbs hit 13 before he was caught by Matt Bell and Tathra were 2/47, but Tynan Taylor was done in for a duck with an lbw off the bowling of Tim Bowes for Tathra to sit at 3/47.
Shannon Glass steadied the innings to 4/110 after building a solid partnership with Bennett and posting 22 runs himself.
However, it was Jayden Heyhorn who sealed a strong target with 38 runs before he was bowled by Bell.
Clint Philips added a handy 10 before he was also returned to the sheds by Bell, who claimed three wickets for 32 on Saturday.
Eden's runs were more scattered once they took the crease after a worthy open some wickets fell cheaply and had the hosts on the back foot early.
Opener David Summers was building well, on 29 runs when he was caught by Taylor.
Meanwhile, Dan Blacka showed he still has some gusto with the ball to clean up fellow opener Josh Brown for just four runs on Saturday.
Andrew Evelyn provided a steady 22 and his dismissal, by the bowling of O'Reilly, brought Eden to 3/47 in similar standing to Tathra's opening innings.
However, O'Reilly got something of his own back with the ball, pipping Bell for a duck by an lbw.
Patrick Kearney secured a single before he was caught by Blacka off a Bennett ball and the Eden innings was quickly tumbling.
Drew Mudaliar knocked 16 before he was called lbw off the bowling of David Shane.
Shane secured the pair, picking up Mudaliar's son Rahul for a duck and Eden started to fall short of batting options when the skies opened up and the result was conceded to Tathra in the 29th over.
South Euro, Merimbula and Bermagui were the other first-up winners from the weekend.
Bermagui put on a dominant display over Wolumla with Mitch Venables (44) providing the only real resistance against the Bermagui bowling attack as the Clydesdales toppled for 97.
Liam Cooper 52 not-out and 24 from Jack Allen laid the foundation to win 2/98.
