The Bureau of Meteorology issued the warning for Friday, September 25 and into Saturday, September 26.
According to the bureau, parts of NSW and the ACT will receive a wintery blast on Friday, as a cold trough moves through.
"This could impact travellers at the start of the school holidays," the bureau said.
The weather system could bring snow to low-lying areas of NSW and the ACT, damaging winds and the potential for thunderstorms with small hail.
