The man, aged in his 50s, faces one count of indecent assault person under 16 and one count of grooming a child under 14 for unlawful sexual activity.
In court documents, police allege the man indecently assaulted the child on the South Coast when she was eight years old and allegedly exposed her to indecent material when she was nine or 10 to make "it easier to procure" her for unlawful sexual activity.
The matter appeared in Bega Local Court on Tuesday, September 15, where Magistrate Doug Dick excused the man from appearing over audio visual link and adjourned the matter for charge certification to later this year.
The man was refused bail earlier this year and an interim non-publication order applied to the matter to protect the girl's identity.
