While several students at Bega High School were disappointed they were not able to undertake the annual trip to South East Asia due to COVID-19, that has not stopped them volunteering their time to assist the local and global communities.

Students have been making and selling face masks with the aim of fundraising the $3500 needed to build a house for a family in Cambodia through Global Village Housing.
But also, they will donate 40 masks each to the Sapphire Community Pantry and the Women's Resource Centre, with the aim of being shared with those who cannot afford them.
"The kids are giving up their time even though they're not going [overseas], they're committed to fundraising," Bega High teacher Denise Perry said.
"I'm really proud of them, that they're prepared to do it."
