The NSW Police Bomb Disposal Unit is on its way to the Bega Valley after reports a hand grenade has been found on a rural property there.

Police media said around 8.50am Friday morning, August 7, residents on Fulligans Road, Pericoe, found what they believed was a hand grenade while cleaning out a shed on the property.
Local police investigated and determining it appeared a real grenade, called in the Bomb Disposal Unit. As of 3.30pm the unit was still travelling to the district from its Sydney headquarters.
More information will be made available as it comes to hand.
