Back Lake Merimbula opened
Council staff are in the process of digging a channel to open Back Lake in Merimbula, according to a post of council's social media page on Wednesday afternoon.

People are being warned to be aware of the dangerous channel and deep water warning signs in place.
Earlier on Wednesday council also opened Bega River mouth to the ocean following heavy rainfall.
Council said "rainfalls over the last two days have meant the trigger height of 1.36m has been reached" for the opening of the river mouth.
