Council said it will open the mouth on Wednesday, July 15 as "rainfalls over the last two days have meant the trigger height of 1.36m has been reached".
"The length of time estuaries remain open is dependent on the volume of water flowing from the catchment, tides and the influence of wave activity at the entrance," council said.
"Bega River was last opened in February and closed again in late May as a result of multiple large swells depositing sand in the entrance channel.
"Please take notice of the warning signs in place to alert the public of the deep channel, strong currents and the potential of sand collapses in the area."
Council closed the road between the Tathra Beach Country Club and the northern end of Handcocks Bridge at Mogareeka on Wednesday morning.
