Amid the COVID-19 crisis, the Sapphire Coast competition's regional manager Matt Graham will be the sole contact for all clubs as well as schools, partners and stakeholders.
Mr Graham said it was an "incredibly challenging time for us all" in a post on SCAFL's website.
"The last week has been a difficult one for the AFL Sapphire Coast team with the AFL, and by extension AFL NSW/ACT, announcing the temporary stand down of many of its staff until Sunday, 31 May 2020.," Mr Graham said.
"As detailed by our acting CEO Tiffany Robertson, these significant actions are needed at this time to ensure the viability of our game at all levels as we manage the impact of COVID-19 on our industry."
Mr Graham will also be working in a reduced capacity for three days per week as the governing body looks to minimise the blow by the ongoing crisis.
"We will have the support of a small team of AFL NSW/ACT state and national AFL staff in addition; and ask for your patience and understanding during this period as we navigate our reduced work arrangements," he said.
Mr Graham said the AFL were committed to seeing their full complement of staff back on deck as soon as possible, but were hoping to keep everyone as up to date as possible in the meantime.
"The organisation is committed to continuing to provide regular updates, tools and resources as well as new and unique content to engage our football family during this period.
"The entire AFL Sapphire Coast team, are looking forward to supporting the pending 2020 AFL Sapphire season as soon as we are back on deck."
Mr Graham said Sapphire Coast AFL was also reiterating the the postponement of training runs until at least May 31.
"It is the AFL's position that club training should not be taking place up until this time - unless advised otherwise by the AFL," Mr Graham said in the post.
"Clubs should not be arranging for players to come together in small groups to complete AFL training as this is not in line with the AFL's position and it also goes against the government's social distancing requirements that are currently in place."
Meanwhile, NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) announced on Friday a number of major competitions would be cancelled.
NSWRL officials said it was a difficult decision, but the cancellations were immediate and included nine major competitions including the premier Canterbury Cup.
The NSWRL has also cancelled: Jersey Flegg Cup, UNE SG Ball Cup, Laurie Daley Cup, Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup, UNE Harold Matthews Cup, Andrew Johns Cup, Women's Country Championships and Men's Under 23s Country Championships.
