The plants all had guards with stakes to protect them and these now needed to be removed. The plants had grown out of the guards and were in very good condition, very few had died. The 18 TLC volunteers worked for three hours on Saturday morning removing the guards and gathering them for later removal to the tip, which was carried out by Paddy Farrell from BVSC.
While they were there, they also planted another 100 native plants near the entrance to the headland walkway and spread a large mound of woodchips across the area.
The headland looks very green and attractive now compared to March 2018 when the fire completely ravaged it. TLC thanks all the people who turned up and worked so hard and hope that your backs have recovered.
