The Nowra-based trainer secured the coveted trophy when Brendan Ward rode Fui San to a blitzing 300metre dash on the home straight.
Ward came into the last dash incredibly wide, but was able to use the open air to get ahead of the competition before closing towards the rail to win by half-a-length from Simon Miller on Lotta Gold.
Bega and Pambula Cup winner Theresa Bateup also enjoyed plenty of success with a one-two finish in race five.
Jess Taylor rode Freaky Freckles to victory, again running from out wide to a brilliant final sprint to win by two lengths from Kayla Nisbet on The Guru who had been caught up in the back before making a tearaway run to the finish.
A few jockeys shared in the success of the day with Blaike McDougall headlining race two and three.
He rode Wade Mathie's Loose Wire to the win in race two and clinched the cash for Keith Dryden's Brennaman in race three.
Brendan Ward had a similar day, topping the podium in race six and seven.
His runs included the Merimbula Cup itself, as well as riding the Mark Gee-trained Find My Tail to the podium in the event closer.
Officials said it was an excellent day of racing with the course back to its ususal superb rating of good 4 an improvement from the Heavy 8 at the Pambula Cup following recent downpours.
The club's next race meet will be the Tradies Race Day on March 27 with the Club's Race Day the following week.
