Ahead of the televised NRL Trial against the Penrith Panthers, Eels players and staff will be in Cobargo on Thursday to continue relief efforts in the area.
"They will be arriving in town around mid afternoon where they will be visiting and lending a hand at several farms in the Cobargo district," publican Dave Allen said. The club will also rally around former Eels player Tim Salway who tragically lost his father Robert and brother Patrick in the New Year's Eve fires.
They will then be heading to a public function at the Cobargo Hotel where they will be cooking a free barbecue for everyone from 7pm.
There will be giveaways and a chance to mingle with the players on the night.
Club legends Mick Cronin, Peter Wynn and Bob O'Reilly will also make the trip.
"Everyone is welcome - the aim is to get the community together, enjoy each other's company and continue the healing process."
