Creeks and rivers that had laid dry were finally full, and the sight of water creeping across the dry Bega River at Bega was certainly impressive.
We've collected a selection of photos of the rain, taken by our readers.
Readers also told us how much rain they had received at their homes by Monday:
82mil in the gauge in Eden near the vet.
All up 154mm since early Saturday morning, in Brogo. Finally some water in the dam.
I have received so far at Reedy Swamp 164mls.
Wandella Creek hasn't been flowing for about eight months over the weekend we've had about 200 + mls.
76mm yesterday and last night and another 72 today. 170 all up since Friday. Niagara Lane, Candelo.
130mils from Saturday 11am till Monday 4pm, Cobargo.
131mm for past three days in Bega.
156mls at Verona.
Up to 202ml now at Honeysuckle Wyndham, still raining.
I emptied 113mm in Bermagui.
