Dr Nick Taylor has been travelling to the South Coast 10 or more times a year since 2001.
He is an avid surfer, photographer and wanderer of wild places by exploring from the Shoalhaven to the Victorian border.
Dr Taylor's family was also in harm's way of the blazes, but his 97-year-old grandfather managed to defend his Tomakin home with an elaborate sprinkler system.
"I particularly love Bawley point and the beaches in the Murramurrang National Park," he said.
"We usually spend weekends surfing and bush walking around Pebbly Beach or Pigeon House. I try and come down for a week block every year as well and have a rule that we never stay in the same place twice.
"So that has let us explore everywhere from Berrara to Mallacoota."
After the devastating, ongoing bushfires have impacted many of the places Dr Taylor has photographed, he is hoping to preserve the memory of some of the landscapes he captured with his art on clothing, cushions, notebooks, phone covers and greeting cards.
Dr Taylor said all proceeds will be donated to aid the recovery of flora and fauna.
"I hope people can be inspired to visit and stay at these places to help the communities recover."
