"We continue to be blown away by the level of support coming from across the country for those impacted by the ongoing bushfire emergency - it is just incredible," a council spokesperson said.
"We have now reached a point however that the sheer volume of donated goods is becoming a problem."
They said stockpiles are growing rapidly which is presenting new challenges for recovery staff on three fronts: storage availability, resource availability for tracking, receiving and distributing, and the impact on local businesses who are in some cases are unable to sell groceries such as drinks and snacks as they are available free nearby.
The spokesperson said the best way people can contribute to bushfire relief efforts is to support the the Bega Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund or one of the other fundraising campaigns.

Donation pledges and offers of support can be sent to emergencylogistics@begavalley.nsw.gov.au where they will be registered and linked with specific needs as the shire transitions into the recovery phase.
