Mick Barry rescued an injured possum on Monday, January 6, near Lake Conjola.

The possum was dropped to Milton Village Vets and it's expected to make a full recovery per veterinarian Carrie Tay.
It's estimated that as many as 500 million animals have perished in the nation's bushfire-affected areas.
