A number of fires have ripped through several parts of the Bega Valley and continue to be an ongoing threat to communities despite the welcome reprieve of rain on Monday.

Cobargo and Quaama have been ravaged by the Badja forest fire, which sadly took two lives of Cobargo farmers who stayed to defend their home.
Bemboka continues to face fire threat from the Werri Berri fire with crews working to defend homes.
South areas of Kiah, Wonboyn and neighbouring Ben Boyd National Park have also been scorched and there are fears for historic buildings and the chip mill, while Towamba, Burragate, Eden and Nethercote remain under threat.
