One lucky Year 10 student will get the experience of a lifetime next year with Sapphire Coast Anglican College one of only 20 high schools statewide drawn in the annual Premier's Anzac Memorial Scholarship ballot.
The exciting announcement was made by deputy mayor Sharon Tapscott at Tuesday night's SCAC presentation ceremony.
Through a selective application process, one student from each of the 20 schools will be funded by the Office of Veterans Affairs to undertake a study tour to Singapore and Greece during the 2020 September school holidays.
Students will visit battlefields where Australians fought, as well as significant historic sites and memorials.
They will learn about the scope and nature of warfare in the First and Second World Wars, and commemorate the service of Australian men and women in these conflicts.
The college has all the relevant information and application forms for students and parents wishing to submit an application to the process.
