The case against a 24-year-old Victorian man charged with unauthorised access/modification of restricted data is expected to return to Eden Local Court next year.
The Australian Federal Police Cybercrime Operations allege Abe Henry Crannaford, of Noorinbee, is behind four incidents of hacking between April 2017 and February 2018. When he appeared in Eden Local Court on December 4, his defence counsel asked for extra time because of the "complicated computer terminology" and instruction needed from her client.
They said there had been communication with the Director of Public Prosecutions and discussion around "rolling up some of the charges", which could result in proceeding to sentencing.
However, Mr Crannaford's defence counsel said she wanted her client assessed. "His life revolved around his internet connection," she said, and that had been removed. She said a psychological report was needed.
The matter is scheduled to return to court on February 5.
