In pleasant 10-knot conditions, Josh and Jarrah Dorrough proved masters of the wind to win both races.
"We made mistakes," Josh admitted, "such as dropping the mainsheet. We also got things right; we tacked on the knocks" (when the wind shifts unfavourably), "so we went from lift to lift and gained advantage on the windward legs".
Club champion Rob Morton didn't have quite enough reach to fill the spinnaker on his RS100 and couldn't quite match pace.
Members said it was excellent to see Sian Morton cleaning up second in her sabre to beat her hubby fair and square.
Third place went to Neil Fisher in his sabre.
Officials said Yardstick calculations mean the most skilled sailors should win, regardless of their boat and set up.
In race two the windward leg was pushed closer to shore, but some who went in close found pockets of calmer winds.
Josh said he and Jarrah tacked straight through the middle.
Rob caught more wind to finish second, while Goete Vikstrom's Laser radial third.
Saturday the club will contest a series of six one-lap sprint races for the last regular event of 2019 with sailing to resume on January 11.
The club wishes all a Merry Christmas, happy holidays and safe travels. The club also offers support to everyone battling fires further north.
