Museums & Galleries of NSW (M&G NSW) has announced the winners of the 2019 IMAGinE awards, with the Bega Valley Regional Gallery winning for South/East Interference Vol.2. Bringing together six mid-career contemporary artists from Indonesia, the Northern Territory and NSW, this exhibition explored themes of place and identity in an Australasian context. Through promoting diverse responses to place and identity, the exhibition aimed to engage audiences with the complexities of our Australasian context and challenge cultural parochialism. The IMAGinE awards honour best-practice education programs, outreach projects, exhibitions, collection management projects and achievements of individuals.
GREAT ACHIEVEMENT: M&G NSW chair Ray Christison and Minister for Arts Don Harwin present the award to Bega Valley Regional Gallery's Jasmin Brown.
