LATEST ADVICE from the RFS
A fire is burning in the Bimberamala National Park, Shallow Crossing State Forest, South Brooman State Forest and Murramarang National Park, burning north of Batemans Bay. The fire has burnt more than 24,536 hectares and is not yet under control.
Current Situation
- Fire decreased overnight. Although winds are still gusty, they have moderated.
- The fire is burning in a north-easterly direction, towards the area of Turmeil in the north.
- The fire is also approaching Bawley Point.
- The fire is burning to the north of East Lynne in the south.
- Crews have been actively defending properties in the Bundle Hill area and are in the vicinity of Kioloa to provide property protection if required overnight.
- The fire crossed the Princes Highway last night in the vicinity of T-Ridge Road. Firefighters are working to slow the spread of the fire on the eastern side of the highway.
- Overnight, the fire crossed the Princes Highway north of East Lynne between Mount Agony Road and Pebbly Beach Road.
- There is a significant amount of smoke in the area.
Advice
Areas west of the Princes Highway between Termeil and East Lynne.
- Monitor conditions. Take advice from firefighters in the area and follow your bush fire survival plan.
Where is the fire?
Areas between Bawley Point and North Durras, including Kioloa, Depot Beach, Pebbly Beach and Pretty Beach.

- Leave now towards Batemans Bay if safe to do so.
Termeil area.
- Leave now towards Ulladulla if safe to do so.

- Do not be in the path of the fire.
- Protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Wear protective clothing and footwear. Cover all exposed skin.
- If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
- If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000).

- National Parks and Wildlife Service has closed campgrounds in Murramarang National Park, as well as a number of national parks. Check for closures at NSW Parks and Wildlife Service.
