The unknown killer stabbed pup Ezra several times outside the Tunnel Gap Road home in Glen Creek at 6pm on November 11.
He then jumped back in the passenger seat of the dark blue Subaru Forester before fleeing the scene.
"It is bad enough for any kid that loses a pet but to have it basically taken from her in that manner is pretty sickening and pretty disgusting really," Darryl Symons said of his daughter's loss on 3AW radio.
"I mean if they are trying to prove a point I've got no idea what the point is and all they have proved is that they know how to kill a dog in a gutless and ruthless fashion."
Police want to speak to anyone with information about the thinly-built man or the car, which had black mag wheels, roof racks and a loud sports exhaust.
