In a statement the bureau said a strong cold front will move through NSW on the day, with hot, dry and gusty conditions ahead of the front generating very dangerous fire conditions for most of the state.

It follows the Rural Fire Service's announcement of a severe fire danger warning for the Far South Coast on Tuesday.

Weatherzone stated by 11.30am on Tuesday temperatures in Bega had reached 33.6 degrees Celsius, wind speeds mostly from the north west had hit 50km/h and there had been gusts of 78km/h.

In Merimbula, temperatures hit 32.9 degrees Celsius, wind speeds got to 48km/h and gusts reached 70km/h.

A gale warning has been released for the Eden coast, and BoM stated seas would be two to three metres during the morning and increase to three to four metres south of Green Cape around midday.

Despite the hot and windy conditions, BoM stated there was a chance of showers in the afternoon or evening across the Far South Coast.

Areas of raised dust are also forecast west of the Great Dividing Range, and there is a chance that this system will bring dust to some coastal districts.

On Monday, the BoM issued a damaging wind warning for parts of the South Coast on Tuesday, stating wind speeds from 60 to 70km/h and peak gusts in excess of 90km/h were possible.

The bureau also said climate outlooks were pointing to drier and hotter than average conditions for the remainder of the year.

"All people in bushfire prone areas in NSW need to have a bush fire plan, remain vigilant, and monitor warnings and messages from the RFS," BoM said in a statement.
