The Sea Eagles launched junior prodigy Jakome Roberts-Charlton into the opening order in round one and he's likely to continue a run at the top of the batting order after impressing on debut.
"Jakome is a real talent , so he will be given a really good opportunity this season," team captain Chris Dwyer said ahead of round two.
With 16 further weeks of competition before the finals series, Dwyer said he was excited to welcome some other young guns to the Tathra roster as well.
"Laughlin Brennen - the under 19s rep captain - has signed up and will play this weekend," he said.
"He is really good at all aspects of the game and should thrive with some good experienced players around him."
The Sea Eagles will also bolster their existing stable of medium and pace bowlers with young leg spinner Cody Preo.
"Cody is only 15 and he'll get a run in first grade shortly - we think he could be very dangerous come later in the season."
With the competition growing enough to split to first and second division, Dwyer said an eight-team comp was suitable for the player base.
"It keeps the strength there for all sides."
It is a similar scenario for the Bega-Angledale Bulls who have kept a core foundation of players form last year, but will also welcome some new young players to the roster.
Brad Moon, Braiden McIntosh and captain Cody Hazelgrove-Danvers are regulars in the competition and seasoned campaigners for the Bulls.
Meanwhile, Alexander Eadie, Lachlan Sims will continue their rise with the club and the Bulls are happy to welcome players like Sam Griffin to the top squad.
Both the Bulls and the Sea Eagles head to round two matches this weekend, while the division two competition also gets underway.
The Bulls will play host to the South Eurobodalla Pirates at George Griffin Oval on Saturday, while the Sea Eagles take the road south to Pambula to face the Bluedogs.
In division two Tathra will host Pambula at Lawrence Park from 2pm on Saturday.
After back-to-back wins in the Glenda Hall Shield, the Far South Coast ladies outfit travel to Canberra to back up for two more rounds on Saturday.
Matches will be held at 10am and 2.30pm at Harrison Oval with the opening round against Weston Creek Molonglo and the second game to face North Canberra.
