Police have charged a 19 year old man over the mass killing of kangaroos at Tura Beach on Saturday night.

Police confirmed late Tuesday that they had a man in custody who has been charged with a Serious Animal Cruelty offence (torture, beat and cause death of animal).
He has been granted conditional bail to appear before Bega Local Court on November 26.
About 10.15am on Sunday, September 29 police were called to the Dress Circle and Headland Drive, Tura Beach after receiving reports dead kangaroos had been found on the road.

On Monday, police said they believe up to 20 kangaroos may have been run over by a vehicle between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Saturday.
Distraught WIRES volunteer Janine Green said the night's "carnage" saw nine adult kangaroos and one joey killed on The Dress Circle and a further seven kangaroos and one joey killed on Headland Drive.
At least one surviving joey that was taken from its dead mother's pouch is now being cared for by Ms Green.
WIRES said there may be other survivors, so asked all residents to be on the lookout for any others in the area that may be injured and are lying in bushland or vacant blocks.
