Merimbula cricket club's Tom Kellar has been named to represent NSW Country, at the under 17 national cricket championships in Mackay.

Tom was selected after some very consistent performances over the past 6 months, playing for Sydney Thunder, in both the U16 and under U17 state challenge titles.
Kellar's selection in the New South Wales team is the culmination of several years hard work. Playing for the ACT, where he was the under 15s NSW district cricket association's leading run-scorer.
Following that he was signed as a country player, to Sydney Premier Grade Cricket Club, Bankstown, playing in the prestigious Green Shield competition.
He was then amongst the leading run-scorers at the under 16 New South Wales country championships, before becoming seriously ill with an infection that attacked his brain and spinal cord, in January this year.
He is recovering well and was just recently part of the team that took on the ACT Meteors in Bega.
The former Merimbula Cricket Club junior, has established himself, as a highly respected and dependable top order batsmen and is looking forward to making an impact at the under 17 national carnival.
Tom and the New South Wales country team, will kick off their national championship campaign, with a day night match against Victoria, on September 30.
