The Aces defeated Chicago Sky 93-92 in Las Vegas on Sunday with a desperate final half-court interception and game-winning long range three-point shot by forward Dearica Hamby.
Cambage was dominant with 23 points, 17 rebounds and six blocked shots.
The Australian All-Star's effort kept the Aces in touch with the Sky and allowed Hamby to sink the desperate game-winner with five second to play.
The Sky appeared to have the victory secured with a 92-90 lead in the dying seconds but their point guard Courtney Vandersloot threw an ill-fated long pass.
With about eight seconds to go Hamby swooped on it at half court, bounced the ball once and at high-speed launched it for the game-winning shot right in front of the Sky coach.
Cambage and the Aces face the formidable task of flying to the US east coast to face the top-seeded Washington Mystics on Tuesday in game one of the best-of-five semi-finals.
In Sunday's other sudden-death playoff game, Los Angeles Sparks thumped Seattle Storm 92-69 to move on to a semi-final series against Connecticut Sun.
