A 27,000 cubic metre stockpile of timber, weighing about 3500 tonnes, will be transported from the Lara site under the first stage of works starting on Monday.
The state government allocated the money in this year's budget after the Environment Protection Authority used its power to take over management of the stockpile after the previous operator C and D Recycling let the waste grow, creating a fire risk.
