The man, aged in his early 20s and who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16 in Bega Local Court on Tuesday, September 10.
Police prosecutors withdrew a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a person under 16.
The man was on bail at the time of the rape, awaiting a hearing in Bega District Court later this year on separate multiple child sex charges.
He did not appear via audio visual link, and has been held in custody at Nowra's South Coast Correctional Centre since his arrest in February.
The man's co-accused, a woman also aged in her 20s, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a person under the age of 16, and two counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16.
She appeared in Bega Local Court on Thursday, September 5, and has been excused from appearing at the Sydney Downing Centre on Wednesday, October 9.
Her bail conditions include not travelling on a school bus, not contacting her co-accused, not going within one kilometre of the alleged victim's address and complying with an apprehended violence order.
Police allege the offences occurred between 3pm and 6pm on Sunday, February 24, in a town on the South Coast. The pair were arrested by NSW Police two days later. The man will be sentenced in the Bega District Court on October 14.
Aggravated sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16 carries a maximum prison sentence of 12 years in NSW.
