The chamber's events committee has been very busy in the past couple of months with a big focus on ways to demonstrate how great the customer experience can be in Bega.
"There is plenty of talk about traditional businesses struggling, and with the growth in online sales there is more competition than ever," chamber president John Watkin said.
"However, nothing beats dealing with a local business where you can deal with real people, who have a genuine interest in you and your purchase.
"It is fitting that the region's largest employer Bega Cheese has come on board as our major sponsor and we thank them for their continued support."
Mr Watkin said these awards are the chance for customers to recognise a business or individual that excels in service. It's not confined to retail either, it might be your local doctor, mechanic or local takeaway.
"It is also an encouragement for businesses to actively improve their customer service with the chance to win and be recognised as outstanding," Mr Watkin said.
Nominations are now open. Head to www.begachamber.com.au and follow the link to nominate your favourite business or individual. You only have four weeks to nominate before judging begins.
The Customer Service Awards will culminate with a spectacular gala dinner and awards night on November 9 where the best of the best will be rewarded for their efforts.
