Saturday morning a combined team of FSC juniors got to face the Meteors in a trial game, but the women's state squad proved too strong despite some clean early wickets from the mixed local outfit.
South Euro pace bowler Jarrah Limon had the honours of the early wicket, taking the scalp of Meteors opener Katie Mack cheaply as both teams struggled against wind gusts peaking at nearly 50km/h.
Claire Koski took a little longer to dismiss, but was returned to the stands off a Jack Allen catch for 35 off some good bowling by Zac Wels.
The FSC proved capable despite the trying conditions, having the Meteors down by three wickets ahead of drinks in the 12th over.
Stars all-rounder Anna Lanning had also been dismissed cheaply with Merimbula bowler Dylan Lawson securing the wicket with some clean bowling.
The Meteors quickly steadied the ship after drinks with Erin Osbourne retiring after a match-best 86 for the ACT visitors, while Angela Reakes built to 72 before an Allen catch brought her undone off Janet King's bowling.
The middle order all but single-handedly built the Meteors to a convincing innings with the Meteors batting out 40 overs at 7-310.
Tathra's Jakome Roberts-Charlton opened the batting for the coastal combine, but was up against it early as the Meteors showcased their skills with the ball.
He was taken cheaply by an Osbourne catch off Koski's bowling, while fellow opener from Monaro Tom Walker was among the best for the coast, building to 24 before he was run out chasing a quick single.
Pambula's Harry McAlpin was also a contender with the bat, top scoring with 25 before being bowled by pace bowler Nicola Hancook.
The coast's lower order made a good defensive stand to hold out for the full 40 overs with Eden's Jessie Mudaliar contributing 16 before being run out.
Wels and Allen also made worthy contributions with the local troops finishing on 8/135.
The Meteors also held an open training session at Tuross' Kyla Park on Sunday with a good number of guests learning some valuable skills.
"On and off the field the Meteors and their coaching staff were fantastic," spokesman for the association Dave Allen said.
The ACT ladies also featured as guests at a function in Bermagui on Saturday night where around 80 guests got to pick up some knowledge in a Q and A session following dinner.
Mr Allen said it was a fantastic visit and was pleased to report the Meteors enjoyed their trip and will be looking to make a return visit. "They are keen to come back, which is fantastic," he said.
